Music learning looks different at every stage of life, which is why we’ve designed programs to meet students where they are. From infants exploring pitch and rhythm to adults returning to an instrument, our offerings develop and support the student. There’s a welcoming place for you at The Music School of Delaware, no matter your age and skill level.

Child (4m to 6y)
Play-based classes introduce rhythm, melody, and movement in ways that engage little learners. Parents enjoy watching their children build early skills while having fun with music. Our programs cover:

Suzuki Academy (starting at 3½y)
Youth (5y to 12y)
At this age, students dive into private lessons and ensembles, building teamwork, confidence, and skill. They start to develop a strong musical foundation and a lifelong love for playing. Programs offered:

Adult (18y+)
Adults join us to learn an instrument for the first time or return after years away. Lessons support personal enrichment, creativity, and professional growth. Group Classes offer adults who flourish in working with others the opportunity to thrive in age-appropriate settings. For those with more experience, our ensembles allow adult learners the opportunity to grow their skills and share the joy of music-making with friends, family, and colleagues.

At what age can my child start?
Children can begin as young as 4 months in our early childhood programs.
Do parents attend class with their child?
Parents are only required to attend certain early childhood classes, which will be noted in the class description.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Students are eligible for one make-up lesson per semester. The teacher is required to provide two make-up options. If the student doesn’t choose one of these times, the lesson is forfeited. Teacher absences must always be rescheduled.
What happens if we miss a class?
You may be able to attend another class time depending on availability. Classes missed due to teacher absence or weather closures will be rescheduled.
Are there extra fees for materials?
Some classes have material fees for instructional aids such as books or instrument kits. These fees are non-refundable.
