Biography

Teaches in Wilmington | FACULTY WITH SPECIAL DISTINCTION. B.M., music education, Florida State University; M.M., Kansas State University. Studied with: Ramona Beard, Marion Pelton, Barbara Gray, Robert Plimpton. Director: adult choir and handbell choir/ensemble, Hope Lutheran Church; organist/music director in various churches throughout the area. Teaching experience: Birmingham (AL), Caravel Academy and Holy Angels Catholic Schools. Member: Board of Directors, Kindermusik® Educators Association.

Biography

Teaches in Milford | B.M., performing arts and music education, Johnson State College; M.A., Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College. Faculty: Ridgewood Conservatory (NJ). Orchestral experience: New York Gilbert & Sullivan Orchestra and Lancaster Festival Orchestra: principal flute; Westchester and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestras. Soloist: National Flute Association Convention in the World Premiere of Leo Kraft’s “From The Hudson Valley”; Adelphi Chamber Orchestra in the premiere of Richard Lane’s Flute Concerto; several other orchestras as concerto soloist. Chamber music: Palisades Virtuosi (flute, clarinet & piano trio): commissioned and premiered nearly 100 works; Duo Dolce with harpist Joy Slavens. Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall debut recital: Artists International. Recordings: Albany Records, Newport Classics, CRI, Ravello, 4-Tay, High Point labels. Reviews: Fanfare magazine’s “Most Wanted List” and American Record Guide. Awards: The American Prize Ernst Bacon Award for Performance of American Music, 2022.

Festival experience: Marrowstone Music Festival, Aria International Academy, Texas Strings Camp, Camp Allegro Wichita, Taneycomo Festival Orchestra, and others.
