Biography

Teaches in Wilmington | B.M., M.M., Manhattan School of Music. Praise: Opera News and ArtsATL as a “standout”, young American mezzo, garnering acclaim internationally. Opera companies: Deutsche Oper Berlin, Seattle Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Minnesota Opera, Opera Philadelphia, The Dallas Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Ópera de Guatemala, The Atlanta Opera, OperaDelaware, Central City Opera where she sang the title role in Carmen.  Motion picture: Bollywood motion picture Bawaal, directed by film director Nitesh Tiwari, filmed in Berlin, expected release in 2023. Art song: featured recitalist twice with New York Festival of Song, Caramoor Center for Music and Arts under the direction of Steven Blier, Michael Barrett. Awards: 2019 grant winner from the Santa Fe Opera, 2020 and 2021 winner of the Opera Foundation NYC, first prize winner of the Metropolitan International Vocal Competition, district winner with the Metropolitan Opera National Council. Major recording projects: under Salman Rushdie, performed and recorded the role of Blindwoman in the world premiere of the opera Shalimar the Clown (based on the novel with the same name) with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, recording was distributed on iTunes, Spotify, all major outlets; performance as Maddalena in Rigoletto with Ópera de Guatemala: recorded and broadcast on Univisión TeleOnce throughout parts of Mexico and Central America. 2021-2022 season: The Atlanta Opera as Jenny in Threepenny Opera, debuted with Oregon Symphony for Handel’s Messiah, joined Deutsche Oper Berlin as a season ensemble member. Studied with: Rita Sloan, Anne Koscielny. Chamber music coaching: members of the Philadelphia Orchestra & Guarneri String Quartet. Member: Pi Kappa Lambda. Awards: Presser Foundation; first place winner, Austrian-American Society Mozarteum Scholarship Competition. Teaching experience: University of DE; Luzerne Music Center; Aspen Festival (former Accompanying Coordinator and Teaching Assistant to Rita Sloan, Director of Collaborative Arts Program). Performing experience: Pyxis Piano Trio, solo and chamber music recitals in Rome, Italy; Helsinki and Imatra, Finland; and Lausanne, Switzerland. Collaborations with instrumentalists and vocalists including members of Tonhalle Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Delaware Symphony in performances at venues including the Smithsonian Institution, Kennedy Center, Swarthmore College, Aspen Music Festival, Marcella Sembrich Opera Museum, New York City and Puerto Rico. Appearances at summer festivals include the Luzerne Music Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, the Rome Festival, and the International Festival-Institute at Round Top in Texas, where her performance with Minnesota Orchestra principal oboist Basil Reeve was recorded for NPR. Soloist in Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A Major, K.488 with the Wilmington Community Orchestra.

Performed for over 23 years with The Honeycombs, recording 6 CDs.
